Journalist Passion

Working with Sierra always amazes me. She is an incredible model and she is always my go to girl now when shooting important sessions, she always rocks it! I am so pleased with how the pictures turned out, hope everyone else is to!

A Beautiful Journey

I am not only Excited, but soooo honored to have been a part of this beautiful family's journey through this amazing time. Expecting their second child was an awesome highlight to my job. I got to work with this vibrant family for their maternity photos, Birth and Delivery photos, as well as Newborn and family photos. I have been so stoked to post this blog post showing the whole process that I got to photograph. Thank you so much Charlene and Scott, for allowing me to be a part of such a special time in your family's life!!

Here is the Maternity photos we did, Honestly one of my FAVORITE sessions I have ever done! Not only was it so easy because this family is so beautiful, but I got to try to many different shots I have been dying to, and they were so open and willing to try anything (within reason :P) to get their perfect shots!

With soon-to-be big sister Aurora (3 years old) and the awesome parents, we managed to rock these photos!!

After these, I was stoked for the phone call saying that Mamma was going in to the hospital for her second beautiful baby. At around 9:30pm the phone call came, her water had broke and they were on their way in! My husband and I left the house ASAP (The hour drive there was almost torture!) lol! We finally pulled up to the hospital and I jaunted in as fast as I Could. My heart was racing! My very first time photographing a birth. I spent hours researching different photographers work on these special occasions and I felt I was ready! But walking into the hospital all the thoughts came rushing to me..."What if my equipment mal functions" "What if I mess up"... Just like a wedding, a birth is a one time opportunity to photograph, If you mess up, there is no redoing!

I pushed all those scary thoughts to the back of my head, and headed into the room where Charlene, who may I just say... looked waaaay to beautiful to be in labor!!! lol! Her close friends as well as her very supportive Fiance, and sister in law, were all there supporting and comforting her. It was such an amazing time!

Charlene was truly an inspiration. Being a mother of 2, I some what new what to expect, but she made it look so easy! After about 4 hours, Things were going smoothly, but still no sign of baby making an appearance any time soon. So I went down to see my husband who was waiting so patiently. And I feel so blessed! I HATE night driving, So he came to drive for me and he had to wait the whole time by himself, and he had no problem doing so! How lucky am I! I went down to see him and we made a quick run to the store, Just as I get back in the van I received a text saying "Baby is coming, come ASAP" OMG!!!! As soon as I leave right? lol! So I am just very lucky there was no Police around because I was driving a tad too fast lol. I rushed into the room. She had reached 10cm and was getting ready to push.

I could feel the anticipation and the loving energy in the room. Everyone waiting for this little baby to make an appearance. (Sex of the baby was a surprise, which made the anticipation even more intense!!)

Finally, just before 4am the moment everyone was waiting for came.

A beautiful baby girl made her entrance into the world.

A nice, loud, healthy cry came soon after, setting the parents minds at ease, and filling their eyes with happy tears.

I was more then extactic for this family. I had to leave soon after, because I had two little babies of my own to wake up with in the A.M! But was so happy to get these shots for them. Lasting memories forever. BEST PART OF MY JOB BY FAR!

Next up was the newborn photos. I was so totally stoked that she had a girl because I just ordered a ton of baby props 3/4 of it girls things lol So I was so excited!

She was so easy to work with. Such an awesome baby. Made my job so easy! I got to go back a week later for the family photos.

Thanks to this wonderful family for making me a part of this special time! I am more then happy with these photos and am so excited to put together an album of this this incredible journey for this album to cherish forever :)
